Battery Preservation & Optimization Tips
G1 and G2-G5 Voice Pagers

G1 Voice Pager:

Replace G1 Batteries Every 6 Months

For optimal performance, G1 Batteries should be replaced every 6 months.

Recommended Battery

Unication recommends using 1000 mAh NiMH rechargeable batteries.

G1 Programming & Battery Life

Contact your dealer for additional programming tips to extend your battery life and performance.

Batteries & Cold Weather

As with any battery-operated device, freezing temperatures of 30 degrees & below may impact the

G1’s battery life. The following preventative measures are recommended to maximum battery

performance in cold temperatures.

  • Ensure that batteries are fully charged prior to any extended exposure to freezing temperatures. Do not leave your G1 in exposed temperatures for long periods of time. It is recommended to keep on your person as body warmth helps to protect from cold conditions.

  •  Replacing your G1 batteries every 6 months is strongly recommended. Replacing your G1 batteries before the start of the cold season will help to maximize battery life. For optimal performance, Unication recommends using at least 1000 mAh NiMH rechargeable batteries.

*Please be advised that over tightening the battery door screws may cause the unit to not charge/program correctly. If unit does not sit securely in the cradle, please check the screws and loosen as needed.

Antenna Preservation & Optimization Tips
G2-G5 Voice Pagers

G-Series P25 Voice Pager

 (G2, G3, G4, G5):

Best Practices to Avoid Accidental Damage:

  • Never handle/hold unit by the antenna. Example: Pulling unit from belt clip or pocket by grasping the antenna or holding the unit by the antenna.

  • Avoid placing direct impact or pressure on the antenna when wearing on belt while driving/riding in a vehicle. Take care to position the pager so there is no pressure on the antenna from the seatbelt or impact from pressing against the console or door.

  • Lay pager flat when charging using the micro-USB cable rather than standing upright, as a fall or drop that impacts the antenna may cause damage.

Optional Holster and Belt Clip Accessories:

Accessory options featuring a swivel belt allow for 360- degree rotation of the pager and may help users better position the pager on a belt. Visit the G2-G5 Products Page that shows the different holsters available for more information about these options:

  • G-Series Holster with Swivel Clip

    • Available in economy, nylon, or leather options.

  • G-Series Swivel Belt Clip Kit

    • Stud and detachable swivel belt clip that replaces the standard belt clip.
